Have you seen the HBO series, The Wire?

I've been watching at alluc.org owing to the fact that I don't have a TV and, even if I did, we don't get HBO here in the Nethercountry.

Anyhow, some stuff reminds me of Regent Park, though the shit that goes down in "Baltimore" is waaaaaay more extremez, yo yo yo.

Perhaps marring my score of avoiding all that is meaningful or relevant, I refer you to an excellent article from a former colleague of mine concerning social justice and street violence...which...., I would TOTALLY link to right now if it hadn't been taken down...
