Look, I have always been afraid of the dentist.

I wrote this when I was eight. Here is another story, transcribed from my grade 3 English writing work book:

Ralph

Once upon a time, and a good time it was, I was sitting in my nest reading the newspaper and then before you could say "Fling bird-seed" (sic), I heard a big bump and I ran for my life. Later I came back timidly and saw a giant egg sitting on the ground and half the city! The egg had a little crack and soon out poped (sic) a little pterodactyl. Compared to the egg it was tiny.
When I looked closer I noticed it was my cousin Ralph. He had a deep voice and loved to yell. Of course the first thing he had to do was yell. I went down closer to the egg and whispered, "Come on, stop yelling!"
"O.K." he said in his deep voice.
"Shut up!" I screamed.
Soon I trained him not to yell and we lived together in my nest. Sometimes just sometimes he would yell, but everyone got used to it a long time ago.
The End.
