One of the most depressing things ever is the obituary section of the newspaper. My parents are like obituary junkies and hit it up with a highlighter, for real. They put big neon yellow circles around obits of people they know and leave them on the kitchen table or stick them to the fridge or something, I don't why, like as though they are leaving each other messages but the message is super depressing and spelled: C.A.N.C.E.R.

Sometimes, they even leave out an obituary for ME. They also did this when I was away in Amsterdam by scanning the highlighted section and sending it as an e-mail attachment. I never know the people, usually some distant relative. It makes me sad, though, still, not for the person who is dead, but for those left behind, for whoever had to write the obituary. I guess it is a big responsibility, writing obituaries.
