Broken glasses; colossal squid

I broke my glasses and had to patch them up with scotch tape. I am too embarrassed to wear them now - I feel like a nerd à la Harry Potter. Instead, I am wearing contact lenses which make me really blinky and squinty, though I like to think in a sultry 1950s-movie-star-Lauren-Bacall type way. Heh.

In other news, the colossal squid, caught over a month ago in the Antarctic, is now destined for the microwave. Way to add insult to injury, scientists.
