After having reflected on my reasons to NOT want to quit smoking, I've come up with the following:

  • I'll gain weight Yes, I will become fat. This sucks. Only option is to simultaneously quit eating.
  • I won't make friends as easily True / not true - will probably make friends more easily with non-smokers.
  • I'll lose my security blanket Also true. However, can easily find new addiction/neuroses to replace smoking.
  • I'll lose my cynical edge Whatever, I never had a cynical edge anyhow.
  • What will I do with my hands? I can become one of those "pickers." Like the people that pick labels off beer bottles, and pieces of lint off sweaters, and like plucking their eyebrows a little TOO much.

You won't become fat and even if you do put on some weight, you're still attractive. Plus, a little weight doesn't outweigh (excuse the pun) all the other unattractive characteristics of smoking. Therefore another reason to quit.
    - I think you're beautiful.
